# AI code review for GitHub

> AI code review for GitHub. Revix is a native GitHub App that checks every pull request against your repo's standards. No Actions minutes, no workflow file.

Canonical URL: https://www.revix.ai/github-code-review

Revix installs as a GitHub App and reviews every pull request against the standards already in your repo. No Actions minutes, no workflow file, no bot account to maintain.

## What a Revix review looks like on GitHub

### Rules derived from your own repository

Revix reads your repository and derives review rules from how your team already writes code. Every GitHub review is checked against those rules, so feedback matches what your seniors would flag.

### Comments written like a senior engineer

Each comment states the issue, the fix, and the rule behind it, linked back to the rule Revix learned from your own merged code. When you push a fix in a later commit, Revix resolves its own thread.

### Review activity across every repo you connect

The dashboard shows pull request volume, findings, and who is carrying the review load in each repository. It helps when you are deciding whether AI review is changing how fast work merges.

### 03. Grant access to the repositories you pick

Choose all repositories or only the ones you select. Revix asks for read access to code and metadata, and read and write access to checks and pull requests, which is what it needs to post a review and resolve its own threads. Revoke the installation from GitHub settings whenever you want.

### 04. Open a pull request

Revix reviews every new GitHub pull request automatically. No workflow file, no config to commit, no extra commands in your workflow.

## Questions GitHub teams ask

### Does this require GitHub Actions?

No. Revix installs as a GitHub App and reacts to pull request webhooks, so reviews run outside your workflows and never consume Actions minutes. Tools that ship as an action or a CLI step do run inside your CI budget.

### What access does the GitHub App need?

Two grants, both shown on GitHub's own install screen before you confirm. Read access to code and metadata, so Revix can build context from the whole repository rather than the diff. Read and write access to checks and pull requests, so it can post a review and resolve its own threads. You choose all repositories or only selected ones at install time, and you can revoke the installation from GitHub settings at any point.

### Does it work with GitHub Enterprise Server?

Revix supports GitHub.com today. GitHub Enterprise Server, the version you host on your own infrastructure, is not supported yet. A self-hosted instance needs its own app registration and a network route in, which is a different piece of work from the cloud integration. If you are on Enterprise Server, get in touch and tell us, because that demand is what decides the order we build in.

### Do I need to create a bot account?

No. Revix comments as the installed GitHub App, so there is no extra GitHub seat to pay for and no personal access token to rotate.

### Does it work on private repositories?

Yes. Private repositories are covered by every paid plan. Public repositories are covered by the free Open Source tier, so you can put Revix on an open source project without a subscription.

### How long does a review take?

Most pull requests get a summary in around a minute or less, with inline comments shortly after.

### How long does the initial repository analysis take?

It depends on the size of the codebase. Revix does not need to read every file, so a standard repository is ready in around 3 minutes.
